FASET Orientation, a program within the Office of Success Programs, has been a Georgia Tech tradition since 1972. An orientation for new freshmen and transfer students, their parents, family members, and guests, the program is offered at the start of each semester (January for Spring Semester, May for Summer Semester, and July/August for Fall Semester). For incoming freshmen who will start in fall semester, there are five sessions offered throughout the summer.
During orientation new students will receive academic advisement, register for courses, and complete other business items. In addition, Georgia Tech faculty, staff, and administrators will discuss important campus services, student organizations, the undergraduate curriculum, and other academic programs. Most importantly, students and guests will have an opportunity to meet and interact with current Tech students as well as to get to know other new students and guests.
FASET Orientation is a student-led program. An executive board called FASET Cabinet works on projects throughout the year to plan and facilitate the program. FASET has over 130 volunteer orientation leaders who work during sessions to ease the transition and offer personal attention to incoming students and guests. Our staff members are ready to assist with whatever needs may arise, and they are a fun group of talented individuals to get to know!
Feel free to contact our office at any time with questions. FASET Staff actively supports students through the year, by participating in many freshman experiences and collaborating with many different organizations. We are ready to serve and to welcome our incoming Yellow Jackets!
